Electric Potential and Potential Difference in Physics

Potential takes the same physics as the field and changes the currency from force to energy, and that is worth doing because energy is a scalar. Describe a region by its potential and you can forget directions altogether, then recover the field at the end by looking at which way the potential slopes. It is also the quantity that batteries and circuit diagrams actually talk about, since voltage is nothing more than a potential difference. The blocks give the definition, the potential of a point charge and of a spread out distribution, the two way link between field and potential, and the couple of results that fall straight out of the definition, one of which is how Millikan weighed a single electron's charge.
